Shaun and his Three Times A Lady co-hosts attend the 2007 SYN Awards Night. Despite it going for three hours and their category, Radio Program of the Year, being the second last of the night, they failed to win, losing out to Gay As A Whistle. Somehow Shaun thinks this may come back up later in therapy.

Shaun is invited to participate in a storylining workshop in April for the second series of a multicultural drama for SBS. He is thrilled. And desperately trying to get in touch with his multicultural relatives.

Shaun is invited to participate in a concept development workshop for a narrative comedy series. He is incredibly grateful and learns a tremendous amount, most importantly that Mumbai call centre jokes shouldn’t be made with a straight face. Despite being desperately ill, he likes to think he contributed in some way to making the concept great, but those present may disagree.

Three Times A Lady, the radio show Shaun hosted with Jess and Dave, was today surprisingly nominated for Radio Program of the Year. This is despite the fact that it was rejected for another season. Could this be a Scorsese-like sympathy nomination? Could they take it out because they’re the first show ever to dedicate an entire segment to discussing, ‘Wikipedia: world’s greatest encyclopaedia or the devil’s handiwork?’.
Either way, they all figure that unless hell freezes over, they haven’t got much chance and that ‘it’s just an honour to be nominated.’

The children’s play Shaun co-wrote with Erin Thomas, Fairytale Superstars, sold out all four of its shows at Gasworks this week. It’s been a terrific experience all round for Shaun, who describes the play as one of his greatest achievements because he managed to ‘rewrite the Black Eyed Peas lyrics until they made sense.’

Shaun completed a three-day workshop on an ACTF funded children’s TV series this week. Initially quite daunted, he gradually settled in and managed to steer most conversations towards Veronica Mars and Mark Paul Gosselaar – his specialised interests. He learnt a great deal and is in true debt to the wonderful people he met, worked with and offered him the opportunity. He apologises for any reference to Saved By The Bell.

Shaun helps his colleague Duncan Samarasinghe edit the script for his short film, Seven Past Nine. Duncan kindly speaks to the director/producer who agrees to credit Shaun. Shaun proceeds to harass IMDB about adding it to his only current credit as ‘Vision Split Operator’ on Josh Jarman.
